Chili

1 pound lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic — minced
1 28 ounce can tomatoes — cut up
1 15 ounce can kidney beans
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Monterey jack cheese — cubed

Brown ground beef with the onions and garlic. Drain off fat. Add tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt and water. Simmer, covered, 1 hour. Serve with cheese.
