6 ounces elbow macaroni — cooked
1 large onion, chopped — (about 1 1/2 cups)
2 large cloves garlic — minced
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cumin
12 ounces lean ground beef
1 28 ounce can whole tomatoes — pureed
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon red pepper
4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

Brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain well. Add spices and tomatoes. Stir and simmer 15-20 minutes. Stir in macaroni and cheese and serve.
